Aloha! My name is Steph Whiting and I’m excited and honored to work alongside some of my oldest friends and to meet so many NEW ones here at Utah Yoga and Wellness! The vibe here is amazing, isn’t it? All of us are here to focus on health, friendship, love, and fun! It’s the best!
I am 42-years old, and am blessed to live here in beautiful Midway. I have been married for 20 years to my awesome husband, Scott and have 2 teenagers at Wasatch High School and a spunky 7-year old daughter. Life is SO good! But it wasn’t always this way.
At 39-years old, I found myself in a very different place. I was killing myself with workouts (1-2 hours/day), 40 pounds overweight, extremely discouraged, and unhealthy both mentally and physically. It seemed like no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t drop a pound. That discouragement led to more emotional eating and I felt stuck in a vicious cycle leading to more weight gain and more discouragement. My marriage and LIFE had gone through some SUPER rocky years and I needed some help! Luckily, I found a friend who introduced me to a Healthy Habits program that changed my life. I lost 40 pounds in 4.5 months but the MENTAL weight I lost was more like 4000 pounds! (You know what I mean?) I was given new TOOLS that I never had before and with those tools, I was able to finally build a solid foundation for real, true, lasting health. The eating plan was super simple, balanced my blood-sugars, and worked well with my busy lifestyle. I loved that there was very little meal-prep and I finally got to stop counting calories! I participated in a healthy community and surrounded myself with people focused on health so I never felt alone. I had a coach who provided accountability, mentorship, and support, and I began learning new micro-habits. Starting small and practicing daily, those small changes became macro-habits so that before I knew it, I was starting to make healthy choices on autopilot.
I have maintained my healthy weight for the last two years and have loved sharing what I’ve learned with my friends and family. Once I let great nutrition do all the heavy lifting FOR me, exercise became a joy! It’s a celebration of what my body can do, not a punishment for what I ate! I exercise for health, to see my friends, to feel strong, and because I love it! My life has changed 180 degrees, I feel so full of light, love, and happiness, I feel like I could burst open! So excited to share what I’ve learned with this amazing community! Stay tuned for healthy-habit tips from me, recipes, transformation stories, healthy habit nights, and good vibes! It’s all coming!
For meal-planning and private coaching, I do phone consultations by appointment. They are about 30 minutes and they are free. We go over your personal goals and dreams and see if my program is a good fit for you. I’m excited to get to know you all better and to enjoy many healthy and beautiful years ahead at Utah Yoga & Wellness!
