Founder of Utah Yoga & Wellness, Utah Hygge Retreats, Utah River Retreats & Utah Yoga & Wellness Festival, Elise has 18 years of teaching experience in the health and wellness industry in several fitness genres. She has dedicated the last 12 years to teaching yoga at several studios, including dancers, Sundance, workshops, retreats, national yoga events in Boston, Chicago, SLC, and likes pina coladas and getting caught in the rain...
She describes teaching yoga as helping others learn to help themselves achieve fuller lives, through physical movement and mindfulness. Having enhanced her own life with yoga, she is a constant student with over 2000 hours of yoga certifications, a certified Yoga Alliance trainer/school, and certified Yoga Therapist. She is happy to manifest her dream & vision of sharing her education and passion with you.
Being educated in several different styles of yoga has helped broaden her understanding of different practices, to better serve her clients and cater to their specific needs safely and intelligently, with a professional yet lighthearted approach. Going through open-heart surgery in 2017, was her greatest learning/teaching experience. She became her own client, truly understanding the power of pranayama (controlled breathing), movement, regaining strength and flexibility through renewed patience.
Believing in the healing power of laughter, she personifies a UY&W mantra to 'Laugh Every Day.' A 'retired' river guide, outdoor enthusiast, avid music lover/wanna-be DJ, Disco Skating advocate, lover of simplicity & all things random, she embraces fun, humor, compassion, hard work, crafternoons, and living life to the fullest.
Above all, her greatest accomplishment is her family; husband Christian, two daughters (all RYT-200 Instructors) and her '78 VW Westy Bus, Evinrude.
